We are proud to announce that starting July 1st 2019 OftalMedica is the sole and exclusive importer and distributor of the entire Ellex line which includes ophthalmic lasers, ultrasound scanners and iTrack micro-invasive canaloplasty catheter.
iTrack acts on all the structures that control the flow of aqueous humor (trabeculate, Schlemm's canal and collector channels) restoring the natural flow paths without the need for a filtering draft either with ab-interno or ab-externo technique.
Canaloplasty with iTrack performs a 360-degree visco-dilatation with an illuminated microcatheter of 250 microns in diameter, releasing a controlled amount of viscoelastic during the withdrawal phase in order to create micro-perforations in the trabecular meshwork, separating the compressed tissues of the Schlemm's canal and free the collector channels from possible herniations of the inner wall and the juxtacanalicular tissue without leaving stents, shunts or wires inside the eye.
The procedure can be completed in less than ten minutes and can be associated with cataract surgery, reducing the IOP by an average of 30% without the traumas associated with traditional trabeculectomy.

iTrack ™ Microcatheter The illuminated optical fiber provides continuous feedback on the catheter position, avoiding deviation in the supracoroidal drainage system and in the collector channel. The inner guide wire allows you to go beyond herniations and maneuver through difficult areas without the risk of creating trauma. |
iTrack ™ achieved an average IOP reduction of 32.8% and an average reduction of 51.1% of drug use after 12 months. On average, 84.9% of treated eyes benefited from a reduction of the IOP by more than 20%.

Consult your ophthalmologist confidently to find out whether canaloplasty can be indicated in your case or that of your family members.
